Sunoco Race Fuels, the official fuel of the Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series presents the third annual Sunoco Shoot-Out on Friday, September 26 at Volunteer Speedway during the first round of the $10,000 to win Tennessee Fall Brawl.

Throughout the regular Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series season, a separate points chase is set up for cars running in the weekly Sunoco Quick Six Dash Events which includes drivers qualifying in the top 12 starting spots running in two six-car, six-lap dashes at each event.

BULLS GAP, TN — After taking a few weekends off racing following the very successful World of Outlaws Late Model Series fifth annual Scorcher in late August ... due to several factors (the traditional end of summer over the Labor Day holiday weekend and many people choosing to get away for a last fling of summer, plus it also coincided with the start of college football and other tracks in the East Tennessee region hosting special events, along with the second weekend in September the World 100 and also Saturday night Richmond NASCAR event televised under the lights), Volunteer Speedway is ready to crank back up with an exciting five division racing program on Saturday, Sept. 13.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 23) After winning four consecutive races Tommy Kerr and the BMS team headed for the WoO Alltel Scorcher at Volunteer Speedway. On both nights of the two-night event mechanical problems sidelined their racing efforts.

BULLS GAP, Tenn. — Big purse money will once again be paid out at Volunteer Speedway on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 20-21, for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned Fifth Annual Scorcher presented by Rusty Wallace Toyota of Morristown. Dirt Late Model racers and fans from all across the United States are expected to head to "The Gap" for the 2008 version of the Scorcher.

BULLS GAP, Tenn. (Aug. 2) — Pizza Plus presented the “Summer Sizzler” Saturday night at Volunteer Speedway and no driver was hotter than Jeff Maupin of Greeneville. Maupin powered into the lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back en route to capturing his second “Gateway Ford” Super Late Model victory of the season.
