The Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series returns to Tazewell Speedway for a $5,000 to win event this Saturday, September 13. Some of the region's top open wheel drivers will be at Tazewell to see if one of them can knock off defending series champion Joey Kramer. Kramer has won the last three BoB Open Wheel events at Tazewell. Series Director Tom McConnell said there are a number of drivers calling him about the Tazewell race and a good car count can be expected. Also racing will be the steel head late models, modified streets, pure streets, and 4 cylinders. Those classes will be racing for double points. The super late model race has been scratched because of a scheduling conflict, but have been added for Sat., Sept. 20. Grandstand tickets are $20 for adults, children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $30. Pit gates open at 3:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00.
