First ASA SAT Road Course Race Called Off Do to Economic Issues
The American Speed Association Southeast Asphalt Tour announced today the event at Rockingham Raceway Park, (NC) scheduled for August 30th, has been canceled. The race was supposed to be the first road course event in series history.
“The staff at Rockingham was extremely generous to work with,” said series owner John Kee. “The facilities were great and we were planning on having a top notch show. The economics of staging a race with the size of the track and expenses of the television covering a large track were just too much for the Southeast Asphalt Tour.” The next scheduled event for the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour will be The James Garrison memorial race on September 13th at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia.
