Music City Motorplex Ready to Host ‘Road to Nashville’ Winners

Jay Middleton Could Wrap Up ASA SAT Title at Southern National Raceway Park (NC)

After an impressive season in the inaugural RC Cola / MoonPie American Speed Association Southeast Asphalt Tour, Jay Middleton is on the verge of wrapping up the series’ championship.  After three wins and only two finishes outside the top ten, Middleton takes a 202-point lead into the next race at Southern National Raceway Park (NC) on October 4th.  A fourth-place finish or better will lock up the championship for the Gainesville, Florida, driver.

Engine Violation for Choquette Enables Georgia Driver to Get First ASA Southeast Win

ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour officials announced today that Jason Hogan has been declared the winner of the series first visit to the famed Hickory Motor Speedway.  At the conclusion of 100 laps on Saturday night at the North Carolina track, Jeff Choquette crossed the finish line ahead of Jason Hogan.  In a post-race technical inspection, Choquette’s apparent winning racecar was found to have an engine-rule violation and consequently, he was disqualified from the event.  Jason Hogan is now the official winner of the Hickory 100.  It is his first series victory.

Boaz, Alabama, Driver Wins ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour Event in His First Start

The RC Cola / MoonPie American Speed Association Southeast Asphalt Tour regulars knew they had a tough task ahead of them at Lanier National Speedway (GA) on Saturday night.  The top Tour drivers didn’t just have to worry about beating their fellow series regulars, they also had to go against a line-up of local racers who would be tough to beat.  Chris Whorton was one of those drivers who knew the Lanier track like the back of his hand, and not only was it tough to beat him – it was impossible.  After a series of late-race restarts, Whorton held off Kyle Fowler and Paul Kelley to win the James Garrison Memorial 100.

Lanier National Speedway (GA) will Host 100-lap Memorial Event on September 13th

All season long the RC Cola / MoonPie American Speed Association Southeast Asphalt Tour has traveled from track to track and attracted local racers to run with the big boys in their 100-lap feature events.  Each week they have a few drivers that will test the waters with the tour drivers.  The next race at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, GA, could provide the biggest test, as at least a dozen track regulars will look to steal the show from the tour regulars in the James Garrison Memorial 100-lap event on Saturday, September 13th.
